Reached North Cape…hey guys, we got it!!!!

And finally here we are…North Cape!! After almost 6000 km by bike with most of them under stormy weather and raining days, we reached our target: parallel  71°10’21’’, in other words North Cape, the edge of Europe. All around us, nothing, really nothing. We ran near the huge globe symbolizing North Cape for the traditional photo and then photos photos photos of the ocean, the land, the horizon. We were very excited and satisfied and we couldn’t hide our joy (or at least me :-).

  

And afterward some rest. We took a cabin just 10 km from North Cape and it was wonderful to see through the window…what?…anything! Only mountains and the ocean. I think I never slept in a place more quiet than this one. Unfortunately we didn’t see any northern light, we were told it was no season but we tried anyway to look at the sky just in case… at least we experienced a very special night ;-)
